Âncora
A free Chrome extension and institutional website, built from scratch by Webmari, that help people manage online gambling urges through AI-powered supportive conversations.
Âncora was created to address a sensitive problem: helping people in Portugal and Brazil who struggle with compulsive gambling or excessive internet use. The idea is simple and powerful: a browser extension that interrupts access to betting sites with an empathetic conversation, instead of just blocking and frustrating the user.
This is one of the projects we're proudest of: Webmari developed Âncora end-to-end, from the institutional site to the Chrome extension itself, including a PHP backend that acts as a secure intermediary for the Gemini API, and an admin panel with authentication and a Supabase database. As a web and software development agency based in Lisbon, this project shows our ability to go far beyond a website, delivering complete digital products.
Building not just the messaging for a mental-health product, but the product itself: a functional browser extension with strict privacy requirements, and AI responses that sound human and never clinical or alarmist.
